Planning poker and story points explained
What is planning poker?
Planning poker, also called scrum poker, is a collaborative way to estimate the relative size of tasks. Participants choose estimates independently, then discuss differences to uncover different assumptions about the work.
Are story points hours?
No. Story points describe relative effort, complexity and uncertainty. Agree on a scale before voting and compare tasks against an example your team understands.
Why use a Fibonacci deck?
Increasing gaps between estimates reflect the uncertainty of larger tasks. A wide spread is a reason to clarify requirements or split the task.
Do I need an account or an installation?
No. Bestpokerok runs in a desktop or mobile browser. Enter a name to create a room; colleagues join with a link. Russian and English interfaces and light and dark themes are available.
How does agreement within categories work?
Estimates are compared within each category using the app’s rule, rather than across specializations. Different Front and Back estimates do not by themselves mean disagreement. The information icon beside the result explains the exact condition.
We collect aggregate visits, roles and specialties to improve the service. Analytics excludes names, tasks and votes. Visit tracking respects Do Not Track; its session identifier is kept only in the browser tab.
